Policy

Despite their successes, many Asian American immigrants continue to experience institutional barriers. Acquiring access to culturally appropriate resources, developing language skills while working multiple jobs, finding affordable quality health care, braving the impact of family separation, and navigating the process of citizenship, are just some of the obstacles faced by Asian American immigrants today. Addressing these barriers through focused policy reform remains critical toward improving the state of immigrant communities and our nation as a whole.

As a project of AACI, a human service agency, and Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s Immigrant Integration Initiative, Voices has chosen to focus its advocacy efforts on the following policy areas:

  • Immigration Reform
  • Immigrant Support Services
  • California State Budget Cuts
  • Health Care Reform

Voices encourages community members to learn more about these policy issues as they impact Asian American immigrants. Below you will find our Asian American Voices Policy Brief. Links to relevant outside policy publications and policy advocacy organizations are also provided under our website's Policy menu.
